Core Message

An open letter aimed at philanthropists. It argues that modern systems (finance, information, technology, institutions) have become so complex and opaque that individuals lose the ability to understand, govern, and benefit from them. The scarce resource is no longer access to knowledge but the capacity to turn knowledge into everyday discernment. A growing share of people’s non-renewable time is consumed by needless complexity, informational fragmentation, and low-clarity decisions. No major foundation is currently addressing this.

The Proposal

Fund development of a new class of personal on-premise cognitive assistant: an AI module that expands individual capacity for reasoning, choice, and time management. Key design constraints:

  • No external data transfer.
  • No creation of dependency.
  • Not a control system, oracle, or human replacement.
  • Oriented toward reducing informational confusion, improving decision quality, returning mental time, and strengthening autonomy.

Guiding principle: technology should be measured by how much autonomy it leaves the user, not by how much it replaces.

What Already Exists: the CIC Protocol

The core is already in production. CIC (Critical Information Check) is an epistemic analysis engine (version 2.1) integrated into GeneForge’s B2B products for law firms and accounting practices. It applies 30 heuristic criteria to high-stakes questions and returns a map of the problem rather than a single answer:

  • Dominant consensus position.
  • Dissenting opinion with systemic critique.
  • Empirical experiments to test which thesis holds.
  • Supported by an economic-systemic knowledge base (Quantitative Balancing, Minsky-Keen).

CIC is publicly accessible in beta, actively evolving, and can be tested by potential funders from the first meeting.

First Application: Cognitive Module for Home Robots

The initial operational product is an advanced cognitive (“brain”) module offered as an optional upgrade for existing commercial home robots of several brands. Focus is on the decision-making and contextual layer rather than mechanical automation. Advantages claimed:

  • Leverages the existing robot market (no need to build hardware).
  • Differentiation via cognitive software.
  • Fully on-premise operation with no external transmission of conversations or behavioural data.

Funding Request and Roadmap

Total sought: €1,100,000 over 24 months, disbursed in three milestone-tied tranches:

  • T1 — €350,000 (months 1–8): Maturation of CIC (security, robustness, non-manipulation criteria) + first adapters for two robotic platforms + working demo.
  • T2 — €400,000 (months 9–18): Field testing with 30 users + measured-impact report (time returned, decision quality, perceived autonomy).
  • T3 — €350,000 (months 19–24): Consolidation, documentation, and publication of open standards for privacy and data sovereignty.

Quarterly reporting. Tranches can be funded separately or co-funded. Technical whitepaper and detailed financial plan available confidentially.

Who They Are

GeneForge AI Labs is an Italian laboratory focused on on-premise AI and data sovereignty. Founders:

  • Enzo Reali — founding member of EUExperts Aisbl; 11 years as temporary official of the European Commission; 15 years in international cooperation; former president of CLENAD; former journalist at Il Sole 24 Ore (author of the book Federconsorzi tra Mercato e Politica).
  • Marco Saba — AI specialist; designer of the CIC epistemic protocol and of GeneForge’s multi-agent architecture.

Existing commercial products (all 100 % on-premise, air-gapped, no training on client data) already serve law firms, accountants, notaries, and executives on proprietary NVIDIA DGX Spark infrastructure:
